1. PHASE III
Welcome to Phase III.
Phase III is an opportunity to directly apply the initial treatment concepts
you have studied in Phases I & II in a community environment with
Sober Living and continued Out Patient Services as support.
There are stages of change throughout the recovery treatment process.
These are:
Pre-contemplation
Contemplation
Preparation
Action
Maintenance
Relapse (Return to a previous level)
Phase III would be considered the “Action Stage” of your recovery
process. This is where we will assist you in stabilizing in a community
environment with:
Life Skills.
Medication & Health needs.
Appointment setting and time management.
Paying bills.
Meeting schedules, sponsor location tips.
Resume writing.
Resource location.
Weekly process and educational groups.
Weekly Therapy Sessions
Balanced living.
2. Family Reunification.
Personal Case Management.
The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous states; “Rarely have we seen a
person fail who has thoroughly followed our path”. “Are these
extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us
sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if
we WORK for them”.
As we do not step into the gym and get fit over night, or go to college
and get a PHD in a month, nor do we break the cycle of addiction, and
maintain any type of substantial recovery gains without consistency, or
long term Action & Maintenance.
After a good foundation of training for 60-90 days, we will then be
ready to continue our training and practically apply this training in a real
world environment.
We will deal with PAWS, life crisis, re-occurrence of previous thought
processes, impulse control problems, relationship issues, career, stress
management, Success, etc. (all the life occurrences we would previously
use or drink over).
This is when we need all the support we can get while keeping ourselves
in a safe environment to stay the course and apply our recovery
strategies to each situation.
Research and experience shows us being able to move into an 80% and
higher, success rate if initial treatment is followed by community based
support for at least an additional 90 days until we are stable and able to
maintain significant sobriety using community based support solely.
(Sponsor, Meetings, Medication management, periodic therapy, family
and healthy network support, able to take a daily inventory and when
wrong promptly admit it, practice these principles in all our affairs.)
3. Our goal is to prepare you to move to the next stage of change
“Maintenance”. This may include reunification with family, relocation,
new career, return to old career, return productively to previous life,
create an entirely new life.
Whatever your goal may be, we will identify what it takes to achieve
and maintain that goal perpetually.
