Julius Caesar was born in Rome in 100 BC and died in 44 BC. He was a military and political leader whose dictatorship ended the Roman Republic. After a difficult childhood, Caesar achieved great political success by reconciling two rival leaders. He then started a civil war that lasted three years, conquering Rome and invading other regions. Although assassinated in a conspiracy led by Cassius and Brutus, Caesar was very influential as consul, army chief, high priest, and dictator and successfully ended the Roman Republic.

1. JULIUS CAESAR
Julius Caesar was born in Rome on 12th
of July in 100 BC and died in Ibid on the 15th
March in 44 BC. He was a militar and political
leader whose dictatorship ended the Republic
in Rome.
He grew up in a poor family. Julius
Caesar spent a miserable youth, which soon
began to approach the political party.
Julius Caesar achieved great political success to reconcile
the two rival leaders, Crassus and Pompey. In 59 BC, Julius
Caesar was elected consul.
Caesar started a civil war which took three years (49-46 BC)
and which was victorious. He conquered Rome and Italy, then he
invaded Hispania, and finally went to the East, where Pompey had
taken refuge.
Caesar was very important for their work: Consul for ten years,
prefect of the customs, the chief of the army, the high priest,
perpetual dictator and emperor transmission right.
Julius Caesar was assassinated in a conspiracy led by
Cassius and Brutus, which prevented him from completing his
reforms. However, Ceasar was successful.
