The Client
Molly’s Cotton Tails is a bricks and mortar shop
selling organic children’s clothing and toys.
They had an existing website to promote the shop’s
location, but wanted to make the move to selling
their collection of clothes and toys online.

The Brief
freshboutique was approached to create an ecommerce store to promote
the new line from a major supplier.
The store would then grow to host all of the shop’s stock, with inventory
control, multiple product images and size options, plus an easy to use
checkout facility with conversion optimisation in mind.
The release date was fixed and so it was essential that the deadline was hit,
as this event was a major income source for the client.

What We Did
Research: Platform
Before commencing any of the build, we undertook a thorough research
process to ensure that the finished product would meet the business
requirements of our client.
The first stage was identifying a platform that was powerful, easy to use and
affordable, to allow our client to undertake the majority of the maintenance
themselves. We settled on Shopify based on its simple to use interface and
powerful integrations with bricks and mortar stores.

What We Did
Research: User Journey
When designing the website, we ensured that it catered for the different ways in which
people shopped for children’s clothes.
To do this, we adapted the menu structure to make it easy for people that were familiar
with the brands to find what they were looking for, but also for more casual visitors that
wanted to browse what was available.
Homepage features were also included to promote the latest ranges for popular brands,
making it easier for people to find what they are looking for during vital new drop periods.

What We Did
Website Build
After receiving the product feed spreadsheet and product images, we set
about creating a light and airy website that showcased the colourful
selection of children’s clothes on the site.
We also ran regular training sessions on the Shopify platform to reduce our
client’s reliance on our services after the website was launched, enabling
them to manage stock control and upload new products independently,
saving them money on unnecessary agency time.
