G324 evaluation
1. 1 Week to go…
G324 – EVALUATION PREPARATION
AND THE WEEKS AHEAD
2. In the evaluation the following
questions must be answered:
• In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge forms and conventions of
real media products?
• How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary texts?
• What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
• How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
3. By the end of this week you will…
• Have your final music video uploaded onto
YOUTUBE or Vimeo.
• Spend the weekend networking, distributing
and gaining valuable feedback
• You will also finish your CD cover and
magazine advert – complete – finito!
4. 1 - In what ways does your media
product use, develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
• Really, this is where you present your music
video and link it to all the research that you’ve
done.
• Give examples of how you’ve met common
music video conventions and what you did
that was original, different or creative.
• Link with how you were influenced by
performers, artists and the process of filming.
• This is about all products – not just video
5. 2 - How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary texts?
• You need to evidence how your products will
be easily identifiable to your audience.
• Comment on how you think they are –
successful? Are you happy with it? Does it
meet the expectations/conventions desired?
6. 3 - What have you learned from your
audience feedback?
• This is all about getting out to a real audience,
which is why you must promote it to a focus
group (video their response or record audio
files)
• Promote on social networking sites, show
artists, get feedback, feedback and more
feedback.
• How did you use this feedback?
7. 4 - How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
• You are effectively auditing your skills as a
Media student.
• There should be some reflection about how
you have progressed since AS and what was
different about this unit.
8. Presentation
• Use a different method for each question and
have each question as a separate post on your
blog with your name.
• The interim task has helped those of you who
really went to town on that activity. Good
practice for the evaluation.
9. Assessment Grids
• Fill these out individually, not as a group.
• Then confer and show me your completed
grids.
• I will then look at all your work and mark it in
front of you with targets to improve work.
• All evaluations must be completed individually
by the time we come back (Mon 7th Jan)
• A big push please!!!
