2.Background
There are three competitors of Shell.
4. I. PSO
II. TOTAL
III. ATTOCK
PSO:
PSO believes in providing a complete experience to
its customer in every visit thus it strongly believes in
standardization of forecourts in addition to the
services provided. Our stations are positioned in
strategic locations across the country from the
Khyber Pass to the Arabian Sea, so as to create
convenience for our customers. Our allied facilities
such as the Bonjour shops, Car washes, oil change
areas and tyre shops are designed and built in order
to create a one stop solution for all of our
customers’ needs.
TOTAL:
In a relatively short time, Total Parco has emerged
as the fastest growing oil and lubricant brand in
Pakistan, and has set standards that remain
unprecedented and admired both locally and
globally. The Total brand is essentially concerned in
building the relation of care and trust with
customers. The same can be said of the manner in
5. which Total is operating in Pakistan i.e. it endeavors
to be an exemplary business entity in terms of
quality product and service offering as well as the
business standards by which it conducts its
activities.
ATTOCK:
As a socially conscious corporate entity ATTOCK has
been actively involved in several welfare projects
over the years in order to be part of the
development of local communities. All these
aspects of our operations set us apart and serve as
a bench mark for operational excellence not just in
the oil industry but for all business entities in
Pakistan.
SHELL:
Having been recipients of the Brands of the Year
Award in 2006, 2009 and again in 2011 has set a
very high precedent for us, meaning that the entire
company is working towards maintaining the
winning streak. Our prime focus in this effort is to
keep providing our customers with the best products
and an unparalleled level of service.
6. Now that our network is spread all across the
country with over 285 service stations, we aim to be
a partner of our customer’s journey of life and the
only choice that guarantees complete peace of mind
throughout the ride.
So whatever your destination is; all you need is
refine fuel that shell always provide you .
2: Problem Statement:
MARKET ANALYSIS:
DUE TO THE INCREASING PRICES OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS,
THE TREND OF CONVERTING CARS TO CNG FUELING SYSTEM
HAS BEEN ON A RISE. HOWEVER, THERE EXIST A LARGE
NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WERE RELUCTANT TO CONVERT
THEIR VEHICLES FROM PETROL TOGAS DUE TO SAFETY
CONCERNS. RECENTLY, MANY CAR MANUFACTURERS HAVE
STARTED MANUFACTURING THE CARS WITH BUILT-IN CNG
FUELING SYSTEM. THIS CHANGE HAS LED TO ENHANCING THE
CONFIDENCE IN THE MINDS OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC
REGARDING THE SAFETY CONCERNS, AND NOW, MORE
7. PEOPLE ARE INCLINED TOWARDS PURCHASING THESE
FACTORY-FITTED CNG FUELING SYSTEM CARS.
TOTAL NUMBER OF CNG STATIONS IN PAKISTAN IS ONLY
2000, WHICH IS QUITE LOW FOR MEETING THE GROWING
DEMAND OF CNG. APART FROM THESE 2000 CNG
STATIONS, MANY NEW CNG STATIONS ARE BEING SETUP
ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
3.Limitations:
I. Fluctuation of the petrol prices in world
market leads to immediate loss.
II. Government has fixed the fuel prices.
III. The taxes are increasing continuously.
IV. All direct fill pipes should be of the same
diameter as the outlet of the fuel delivery
truck.
V. Periodic environmental audits shall be
performed by Rwanda environment
management authority (REMA).
8. VI. Plans and drawings will be checked side
location structure and traffic flow.
VII. Difference between one Petrol station to
another is must be 150 meters.
VIII. Waste water from the washing of motor
vehicles at savage disposal should be
satisfied by (RAMA).
IX. All volatile flammable liquid storage tank
shall be installed in blow ground in
compliance with the requirements of the
industry and trade.
X. To keep records in a standard form so that
at any time data can be obtained.
XI. Station should be located within a growth
center or an urban area except in
circumstances where can be shown through
appropriate studies.
