Teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) presents several professional challenges for teachers. These include teachers having insufficient knowledge of the subject matter and communication functions, learners lacking strategic competence in English and extra-linguistic knowledge, and not having adequate teaching materials or activities tailored to learners' specific fields and needs. ESP teachers must also design syllabi based on needs assessments and choose materials for mixed-ability groups.
