About
I am Mathematical Engineer, PhD in Mathematical Engineering and PhD in Informatics. I’m currently assistant professor at Istanbul University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.
Previously I worked at the Center for Mathematical Modeling (Universidad de Chile), UMI 2807 CNRS. Between 2003 and 2010 I was chief engineer at "Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Mathematics of Genome". The lab studied several bacteria involved in copper bioleaching. 65% of Chilean exports are copper mining. My group had a research contract with BioSigma S.A. (joint-venture Codelco-Chile and Nippon Mining and Metals)
In 2004 we sequenced, assembled and annotated 3 bacteria, for the first time in Chile.
