Scopus is a bibliographic database containing abstracts and citations for academic journal articles covering nearly 18,000 journal titles. It is owned by Elsevier and available by subscription online. Scopus indexes more journals than the Web of Science database, going back to 1966 compared to 1900 for Web of Science. Two of the top three world university ranking systems use Scopus to calculate publication metrics in their rankings. The document then provides tips on finding Scopus indexed journals and recommendations for international publication.
