(This isn't exactly how it was presented. The actual one contains animations. But since slideshare doesn't support that, it had to uploaded as a flat PDF. Also due to the font being unique, the texts are not showing up correctly!)
Engineering drawing is a medium for communication between various people involved in the design and manufacturing process of machines, buildings, vehicles or any other stuff. Here in this presentation, we show how drawing has gone through its development as an engineering discipline.

19. Gothic Era Villard de Honnecourt
some sketches were found in
Honnecourt’s sketch book
but they didn’t demonstrate any
feature of technical drawing
19
20. Gothic Era Villard de Honnecourt
the sketches demonstrate
a range of ephemera
from the world of
cathedrals
20
21. Gothic Era Villard de Honnecourt
the sketches seem
partial and lack explicit
orthographic views or
dimensions

22. Gothic Era Villard de Honnecourt
the drawings were more
gothic iconic than
modern mechanical

as a tool for attracting patronage

26. Gothic Era
masons who actually constructed
had their own documentary conventions
due to lack of common dimensioning process
the design drawings were highly abstract

41. Renaissance Era Albrecht Dürer
features like projected views were absent in
Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings whereas they were
present in Albrecht Dürer’s drawings
41
42. Renaissance Era
despite the beauty and the technical
features, drawings of this era lacked some
crucial features like dimensioning
42
45. Industrial Era Gaspard Monge
developed a geometrical
approach for determining the
true shape of planes of
intersection between
generated forms
thus set up the base for
orthographic views

do engineering drawing in the
computer, saving cost and
instrument space

AutoCAD
IBM first introduced pc
in 1981 and AutoDesk

CAD designs are used
to directly print 3d
objects using 3d printers
users can design and
print according to their
