The 2012 challenge
As more pictures were taken with smartphones, fewer people
came to Walgreens stores to print them.
Walgreens responded with QuickPrints—an API and digital
platform that enables app developers to allow their users to
print photos from mobile devices to more than 8,200
Walgreens locations.
The omnichannel challenge
Walgreens moved quickly to build on the QuickPrints success
and expand its digital footprint to other services. With a raft of
new APIs, it is building an omnichannel experience to meet
customer expectations of connectivity and convenience.
