DROOG DESIGN
Droog




(Renny
Droog

Chest of drawers

(Gijs Bakker)




(Marcel Wanders)


(Arnout Visser)


(Ed Annink )


(Copray & Scholten )


(Hella Jongerius)


(Saskia
van Drimmelen)


Do Create


其中,有Jurgen Bey的do add#1,與Frank Tjepkema & Peter v.d.
Jagt的do break,Do Hit ,Do Eat ,do swing ,do connect,do
frame,do post,do reincarnate,do scratch,do cut,do link.....
Do Swing



Material:
Stainless steel, lamp shades
do creator: Thomas Bernstrand
do: Attach this lamp, which is
fitted with two lightbulbs and
shades, to your ceiling. You are
then able to create a different
lighting mood to your room, by
gently letting the lamp swing, or,
if you’re feeling more energetic,
can make use of the lamp’s
dual purpose by grabbing onto
the handles and letting yourself
go. The bigger your room, the
more you can swing and the
more fun you can have.
Do Hit




Material:1.25 mm steel
Dimensions (w x d x h):
100 x 70 x 75 cm
do creator: Marijn van der Poll
do: A round- edged hammer is
supplied to finish the design of
this chair (or bookshelf or ....?).
Hit, smash and bash to your
heart’s content and sculpt for
yourself the shape you want it
to be. Make it shallow, make it
deep, the choice is up to you.
Suddenly, after a few minutes
or a few hours of work, you’ll
have become the co- designer
of ‘do hit’, with a bonus of
enjoying, or suffering, a healthy
bout of exercise.
Do Eat





Material:Polystyrene
Dimensions (w x l):62.5 x 100 cm
do creator: Marti Guixé
do: This large sheet of plastic
with its assorted series of sunken
shapes is waiting for you to cut it
up into a full set of dinner plates,
saucers, cups and trays. All you
need are a pair of scissors, some
food and drink, and some friends
or family to eat with. do eat
means you don’t necessarily
have to do the washing- up
unless you want to ‘do recycle’.
Also look at do frame, do
reincarnate, do scratch and do
link
Do Frame




Material:
Self- adhesive tape
Dimensions (w x l):
5 cm x 100 m
do creator: Marti Guixé
do: Arrange strips of the ornately
printed tape to create your own
golden frame around any surface
you desire. Instantly, the do frame
can turn something mundane into
a potentially spectacular work of
art, or simply accentuate a
special picture, window, or wall.
Do Reincarnate



Material:
Nylon thread, fitting
do creator: Marti Guixé
do: Death doesn't exist with this
‘do create’ product. The task of
do reincarnate is to inject fresh
life into otherwise tired or overfamiliar products. Simply slip the
almost invisible thread around
your chosen lamp, attach via a
light cable and let it dangle from
your ceiling. An old object is
suddenly and magically new
again as it hangs in mid- air. do
reincarnate can be used for more
objects: it could be a painting or a
photograph. You decide.
Do Link



Material:
Lamp shade, fitting, wood
do creator: Marti Guixé
do: Create your own lamp. do link
will provide you with a lamp and
shade, a base, and a space in
between the two. You can now
bring them together with
whatever you choose. Some do
ideas: do link the shade and the
base with a sturdy branch from a
tree; do link with the broom that’s
sitting in your closet; or now you
have a place to store those empty
beer cans - create an ever
increasing tower for your lamp
which you can dispose of when
you get bored, recycle and then,
recreate something new.
Do Design#1




Material:
Multiplex wood in 8 mm and 15 mm
Dimensions (w x l):122 x 244 cm
do creator: Dick van Hoff
do: You have in front of you a large
piece of wood (122 x 244 cm) with
the do logo etched repeatedly into it.
And with the do- branded wood
comes a series of design
suggestions from the do creator of
the piece. This is the ultimate do it
yourself product which, no matter
what you decide to make with it, will
always come signed by the mark of
do and the proof that you have,
indeed, done.
Do Design#2




Material:
Polypropylene
Dimensions (w x l):
89 x 100 cm
do creator: Dick van Hoff
do: Do it yourself comes in an
altogether different form with do
design #2, this time a long roll of
material with the do logo melted
into it at frequent intervals. The
instructions accompanying this
do design, give a variety of lampshade styles that you can create
and call your own.
Do Connect






Material:
Silver, diverse metal, plastic
Quantity: 13 pieces
Length: 13 cm per piece
do creators: Dinie Besems, Thomas Widdershoven
do: Variation + imagination = do connect. 13 chains, 13cm long
are connected in a loop. You are invited to hook these chains
together in an infinite number of variations. do suggests you can
make anything from jewellery such as bracelets and necklaces,
to a bath plug chain; a few changes in the connections of the
chain will change its purpose completely. do connect promises
you will never get bored, since its potential is as endless as you
want it to be.
Do Post




Material:
Epoxy- coated steel
Dimensions (w x d x h):
26.7 x 7.10 x 29.5 cm
do creator: Dawn Finley
do: Attach this postbox to a lamppost in your street, a tree in
your local park, or an appropriate place in the office where you
work. do post is the ultimate chain mail, with the addition of
surprise and immediacy. Whenever you post your letter, you are
automatically delivered another letter from the mechanism of
the postbox itself. This is the only letterbox with instant
response and can be used to register a complaint, write a love
poem or post your shopping list.
Do Break





Material:
Porcelain, rubber, silicone
Dimensions:15 ø x 34 cm
do creators: Frank Tjepkema & Peter v.d. Jagt
do: Hit, throw or break this vase any which way you choose. The
porcelain exterior will crack and chip, but stick in place thanks
to the rubber interior. Depending on the aggressiveness of your
throw or hitting action, you will create your own custom- made
design. The ‘do break’ vase will become even more your own, if
you throw it after a particularly heated argument, or after you’ve
had an especially bad day. Destruction has never been so
satisfying.
Do Add#1




Material:
Laminate, chromium- plated steel
Dimensions (w x d x h):
40 x 45 x 83 cm
do creator: Jurgen Bey
do: This chair has 4 legs like any normal chair. However, one of
the legs is shorter than the others Don’t let this handicap put you
off - instead, use books or magazines to prop up the leg and
suddenly you have a mini library and chair combination. Use
whatever you feel is right to make this chair complete again, and
then, what appears to be a broken chair, turns into something
brand new, simply by thinking and doing.
Do Add#2




Material:
Laminate, chromium- plated steel
Dimensions (w x d x h):
110 x 45 x 83 cm
do creator: Jurgen Bey
do: Is this a chair with something added or something missing?
A little bit of both, it seems, as the extension of the seat means
you have to think about what you’re going to use to create the
right balance. With this chair, two or more people can enjoy each
other’s company, but there has to be ultimate trust. If just one
person stands up, the chair will lose its absurd functionality. Or,
you can sit on it yourself with some books, magazines or, for the
more daring, a hot cup of coffee.
