10. Blogging, from the dark clouds... My marriage wasn't going well, and we just were growing further and further apart. One day my wife came home from work and summoned the courage, through a lot of tears, to have a very honest conversation. And she said, "I don't love you anymore." My friend Chrishad been battling mental illness for some time. I spoke to him on the phone at 10:30 pm on a Sunday night. We talked about the TV show we watched that evening. And Monday morning, I found out that he disappeared. Very sadly, he took his own life. And it was a really heavy time. And as these dark clouds were circling me, and I was finding it really, really difficult to think of anything good, I said to myself that I really needed a way to focus on the positive somehow..

And then I got a phone call, and the voice at the other end of the line said, "You've just won the best blog in the world award." ThenI jumped on a plane, and I ended up walking a red carpet between Sarah Silverman and Jimmy Fallon and Martha Stewart. And I went onstage to accept a Webby award for Best Blog.
12. ... to AWESOME And the surprise and just the amazement of that was only overshadowed by my return to Toronto, when, in my inbox, 10 literary agents were waiting for me to talk about putting this into a book. Flash-forward to the next year and "The Book of Awesome" has now been number one on the best-seller list for 20 straight weeks.
Com. Dan saya biarkan semua itu memburu saya. Wahai para pedjoeangku, inilah jalan cinta para legenda itu .. Ehm ehm..

I would talking about blogging, why I’m blogging and why you should blogging too.
It start with an excerpt from a novel I bought recently, which resonates with my reason to blog. A teacher of my middle high school once said that her students should have a dairy. We should have writings that can tells your very self history. It’ll tracks our life progress, and capture important events around us. One of our lecturer here in the campus, Mr. Mukhlason, have a blog that have a slogan “A personal knowledge management”. That’s make sense since a blog can be used as simple knowledge management tool. It can stores and retrieves past ideas and thoughts. And this wonderful quote from Doetoevsky, taken by Iwan Setiawan for his novel suggest a very reasonable statement of memorizing our childhood. And so as I then thought, a blog would be one the great place for it.I also used to write my dairy on papers and offline document. Not books. So it’ll easily scattered everywhere and hard to search. But now I can organize it virtually on my blog, search posts that I want to read easily, and tell every visitor my experiences and thoughts at the same time. Or sometimes I keep some posts as private or drafts so then only me that can view it.
My blogger friend, Anla, have written a post titled “Why are you blogging?”. I love simple words that she use to answer the question. She uses her blog to accomodate her passion to write. And more than just writing. Blogging, as she said, combine three things: writing, reading, and social networking. Moreover, it can be assumed as a self-publishing company, where you are the owner, the writer, the layout designer, and the manager of the company.Other blogger friends, Ecci, have a nice statement to express her blog slogan: When my mouth can’t speak, my fingers can write. Her blog called seorangmelankolis.blogspot.com. If you know something about melancholic personality in psychology, you will aware that there are ones who do not enjoying talking very much. They prefer to write or do things privately. Maybe Ecci is one of them. Now she is one of the junior reporter of ITS Online.
One of my favorite TEDTalks is Neil Parischa’s. You should watch it if you haven’t. He told us his life experiences in short 18 minutes. It’ll be boring if he not add jokes here and there. But in the middle of stories he told the most heartbreaking things and heavy times. His marriage wasn’t going well, his wife wants broke up and his friend Chris took his own life because of his mental illness.
In the middle of the loss, he tried to find something positive to hold on. He chose blogging! He blogs little things start from #1000 countdown to #1. One little things everyday. He posted a short posting about “eating a free sample of something you have no intention of buying”, “putting things in your shoe so you don’t forget them later”, or simply “starring into a fire” can be a little positive perspective to the world. He keeps telling that these little things is Awesome. I would agree more if he said ‘alhamdulillah’ instead, From time to time his blog is growing bigger and bigger. And after it became so popular, his blog awarded as the Best Blog from Webby Award.
He collect positive things in life to hold on the grief. He redeveloped his positive attitude. He choose to moving forward after his great loss. He start to see little things. Staring the world like a three years old little children with their wide open eyes. Then he find his awareness again. He also keep authenticity which he defines as “being yourself, and being cool with that”
