The company's "Total Mobile Access" service adds the mobile component to online ordering which is already one of the most popular segments of Pizza Hut's business.W: When looking at reviews about pizza hut there are more complaints than praise but that is true with most companies because people don't take the time to write a review about things they liked. The overarching complaints are poor service in the dining locations as well as slow pizza delivery times. O: Everyone eats pizza! According to Food Industry News, pizza accounts for more than 10% of all food service sales, as each man, woman, and child in America eats an average of 46 slices (23 pounds) of pizza a year. Take advantage of the mobile/ online technologies. T: Company's competitors like Papa Johns, Dominos and Little Ceasars and their adoption of digital media technologies.
- Since Pizza Hut already has the highest market share the campaign should keep them there and gain market share with avid technology users. The GOAL: The goal of this campaign is to create a system that will increase avid media users pizza ordering. In order to reach consumers you have to go where they are, and that is usually on their phones. Key Components: Social Media: Facebook: Pizza Hut has a page with promotions, specials and customer questions and reviews. Twitter: Tweet about their products and respond to customers complaints.Foursquare: Pizza Hut rewards Foursquare Mayors for their loyalty, like a virtual stamp card giving away a free order of breadsticks.
- Pizza Hut has taken advantage of text to order and mobile ordering applications but one improvement to this system is that as soon as a pizza is ordered Pizza Hut's phone should ring and inform them of the online, mobile or text order so that they can confirm that it has been recieved. Many complaints with online and mobile ordering have to do with stores not knowing there was an order or a delay in the relay of information. Create a system for gathering mobile phone numbers from all customers. Give them some incentive like an immediate discount on their first order if they become a part of the discount program. Then text them specials, discounts and various prizes if they come in and show the text message. Like, pizzas with X number of toppings ordered between 4 and 7pm get a second pizza free. This mobile texting program allows them to turn on or off the business depending on their needs. It's immediate, powerful and inexpensiveYouTube: Though on top of social media Pizza Hut has not taken advantage of the online video world with YouTube. I think they should create their own channel and do postings of videos that customers would be able to watch. The link to the site could be embedded on the box. Features could be based on how the pizza was made, meeting your local Pizza Hut Staff or having customers post their own experiences with Pizza Hut. This creates a more interactive brand. QR Codes: QR Codes were first created to track parts in vechicle manufacturing and can still be used today to track orders. As soon as an online or mobile order is processed the customer should recieve a QR code that is scanned from their to-be pizza box. From that moment on they can track the progress of their delivery and keep the stores delivering within the times that they say they will. QR Codes can also be used as promotional devices. When customers scan them from promotional items they will recieve a coupon for their local Pizza Hut.
