iTunesU
 It's one of the most underutilized sources of content out
there.
 Essentially, iTunes U is one of the largest repositories of
OER in the world.
 Educators, professors, and academics from around the
globe are sharing their teaching and their content.
 Depending on the licensing of the content, teachers can
build their course by selecting pieces of created courses
and organize it through the iTunesU course manager.
 This can be done on an iPad or a laptop. Additionally,
educators can share courses and content with each
other. -

 OER Commons offers educators a place where they can
connect and share globally with other educators, and work
with the curriculum those educators have shared.
 OER Commons offers a vast database of teacher-created
curriculum and the ability to organize their courses.
 The content is vetted for credibility and provides citations
for reference.
 Users can sign up for a free account, which lets them share,
access, and curate their own content.
 Educators can also submit original content and house it
with the other content on the site.
 Additionally, educators can add tags and align content with
the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation
Science Standards

downloadable to almost any device,
anywhere, anytime.
 The best part? Everything is available for free
thanks to generous support from Rice
University and several philanthropic

 OpenStax Tutor is adaptive, web-based courseware that includes
a digital textbook, assessments, videos and simulations.
OpenStax Tutor’s adaptive learning engine incorporates proven
principles from cognitive science to provide students with
personalized learning paths, homework and assessment.
 The system enables teachers to derive key insights about
student performance and take advantage of actionable
analytics. The first phase of OpenStax Tutor courseware is
available for high school physics and AP biology in an initial pilot
phase in fall 2015.
The project
 OpenStax aims to advance the frontiers of digital learning.
Teachers, parents and administrators have become increasingly
aware that one-size-fits-all learning is ineffective. The OpenStax
K12 project endeavors to maximize a student’s return on effort
by providing personalized learning content, such as reading
materials, simulations, and assessments that help individual
students with the areas where they need the most help.

 The OER LMS Project, using free Open Source Software
(Available: February 2016), allows teachers an easy
method for designing and publishing online courses using a
variety of Open Educational Resources (OER). The
primary focus of the OER LMS Project is provide schools
and universities globally with a multilingual LMS platform
that can be easily installed and adapted for immediate
use for online learning and teaching using Open
Educational Resources. In addition, individuals and
corporations can freely use OER LMS to create OER Online
Courses for individual student learning and corporate
employee training.
