A syringe filters generally consists of a plastic
housing with a membrane which serves as a

Membrane Filter Disc or membrane is microporus
films with specific filtration rating. Membrane retains
particles and micro organisms that exceed their
filtration rating by acting as a physical barrier and

Filter paper is a semi-permeable
paper barrier placed perpendicular
to a liquid or air flow. It is used to
separate fine substances from
liquids or air. It is used in science
labs to remove solids from liquids.

matter from a liquid, by causing the latter to pass
through the pores of some substance, called a filter.
The liquid which has passed through the filter is called
the filtrate.

size is grade 602 h; the most commonly used
grades are grade 1 to grade 4.
