5.1 Which computer system does the company have?
In my observation company they have 3 computers with all the
accessories. For Colour and Decoration there’s a computer that is linked
to a special program for the selling of painting products. That computer
has an Office package as well. The 2
nd
computer is only used for the
invoicing and it uses the last version of Microsoft Office. The 3
rd
and last
computer is only for the painting colour. The first and last computer are
the workstations for Boss paints and Windows. On the first one there is
also a server. The use of the program for Boss paints is compulsory.
5.2 Does the company use the different services of the
internet?
My observation company use services of the internet. For the e-mail they use
the internet, both a wireless and fixed system. They also have a Facebook
page. On that page customers can find information about new paints, fabrics
and wallpaper. There’s also news about cretain promotions. They not only have
a Facebook page but also a website. The company does not have an online
shop.
5.3 Which application programs are used and for which goals?
For invoicing, word processing and data processing they use programs like Word and Excel.
This is the most important package they need for invoicing, data processing, text processing
and accountancy. They opted for a package of Microsoft Office. They have worked with that
program a very long and they find it very user-friendly. With regards to price and quality it is a
very good Office package.
