The technology of ironing for knitting
garments
introduction
 What is ironing ?
Ironing is the use of heated tools( an iron) to remove wrinkles from the
fabric by using temperature, steam and pressure from the surface of the
fabric.
What is knitted garments?
 Knitwear is the most common method of inter looping and is
the second only to weaving as a method of manufacturing textile
products. Knitwear is made directly from yarn by stitching
structure and specialized machinery the process is different
from regular garment which made from fabric. The difference
of stitching structure and yarn quality of knitwear found that
in the ironing process some color is changed and variations
of size specification.
 Knitwear is normally made of wool, cotton, acrylic or silk yarns
and are loose knitted which gives a soft fluffy handle, good for
keeping in the warmth. This also means that heavy treatment is
likely to damage the garment and that they are likely to distort
very easily.
Cont..
 Fashion and comfort in knitwear is the key for its multi dimensional
growth and development. The least turn around time from yarns to
garments make it easier for the knitted garments to reach because
faster production than the woven.
 the knitwear manufacturers today, are increasingly investing in good
spreading, cutting ,and ironing machines to avoid any tensioning or
stretching.
Factors Affecting the Knitwear during Ironing.
 The dimensional change on the knitted garment because of the
direct contact between the fabric and the iron soul plate so the fabric
easily deform (stretching) because the knitwear fabrics are made from
the loop.
 Color changing on the knit ware.
 there is shine or marks on the faced of the garments because of the
direct contact of iron with garments.
So they need to create automatic ironing machine in order to maintain
the steams distribution, pressure heat on the garment and to give good
look or fresh garments .
What is automatic ironing machine?
 AIM is a design that uses an innovative framework and motorized
mechanisms to effectively iron various clothes by minimizing the
difficulties in the task of ironing. which is able to iron any cloth (shirt,
trousers etc.) within a time frame of maximum 30-35 seconds without
any external help from the user except feeding the cloth. Here two irons
are used to increase the effectiveness and speed of ironing as well as
reduce the overall time taken for one cloth (by ironing it from both
sides i.e. up & down simultaneously).

5 )Viet 7506 up steam tables
Features of up steam table
1. The up steam technology Is to provide stem to the garment from the
surface of the table itself and then after finishing, providing suction on
the same table that helps in removing the steam from the garment
keeping the garment cool and dry.
2. On the upstream table steaming is done completely at the same time,
where as in a normal ironing table the stem from the iron to be moved
above every part of the garment to do steaming resulting in
considerable wastage of time and reducing the product
3. there is no shine or marks on the faced of the garments as the steam is
applied from the bottom side and the garment lock's great and
presentable
Cont…
3. The sizing of the garment can easily be done with prefixed frames over
which the garment will be loaded before the start of the process resulting
in stabilizing the garments sizes upon steaming
4. The technology allows steaming as well as drying from the steam
table, the embroideries or printing will not come in direct contact of
steaming resulting in producing good quality without spoiling the fell
garments and the value addition method
5. this stand alone unit of up steam table doesn’t require any additional
utilities other than the steam connection and single phase which makes
it easier to instill in any factory
Operations
 First The operator load the garment on the table.
 Then set the steam
 Then labeling the garment with special gloves
 Then sucking the moisture by manually by pressing button by foot
 Then removing the garment from the table
6.) knitwear finisher
 The VEIT 8410 Knitwear Finisher is
a revolutionary concept for sizing
and finishing of all types of knit
tops. The machine will
accommodate polo-shirts,
sweatshirts, sweaters and other
similar garments (long and short
sleeves), and produce a consistent
high quality mark-free finish.
 Knitwear Finisher, all areas of the
garment are carefully finished due
to the precise design of the form.
knitwear finisher
 Hems are flat finished without marks on the outer face of the fabric
 Perfectly pressed side seams which are placed precisely on the form (to
the back or the front of the garment as required)
 Clamp for holding collar and neck neatly in place throughout the
finishing process
 Shoulder and armhole seams rest perfectly on the body form for
optimal finish results
Advantages
 Substantial High Productivity (increased output of up to 300 % - 75 shirts per
hour with a single
 machine compared to 25 shirts per hour with conventional steam and
vacuum tables).
 Sizing is accurately controlled to exact body width and length specifications
as a result of the
 flexibility of the machine.
 No skilled operators are necessary due to the easy operation of the machine.
 Automatic seam clamping saves time with the placement of the garment.
 This machine was specially designed for the finishing of knitwear.
1.) put the garment on the form
2.) attaché the sleeves and the
collars with in the clamper
Operation mechanisms
3.) steam releasing from the inside
the form
4.) then stay on the form for a time

  • 2. The technology of ironing for knitting garments
  • 3. introduction  What is ironing ? Ironing is the use of heated tools( an iron) to remove wrinkles from the fabric by using temperature, steam and pressure from the surface of the fabric.
  • 4. What is knitted garments?  Knitwear is the most common method of inter looping and is the second only to weaving as a method of manufacturing textile products. Knitwear is made directly from yarn by stitching structure and specialized machinery the process is different from regular garment which made from fabric. The difference of stitching structure and yarn quality of knitwear found that in the ironing process some color is changed and variations of size specification.  Knitwear is normally made of wool, cotton, acrylic or silk yarns and are loose knitted which gives a soft fluffy handle, good for keeping in the warmth. This also means that heavy treatment is likely to damage the garment and that they are likely to distort very easily.
  • 5. Cont..  Fashion and comfort in knitwear is the key for its multi dimensional growth and development. The least turn around time from yarns to garments make it easier for the knitted garments to reach because faster production than the woven.  the knitwear manufacturers today, are increasingly investing in good spreading, cutting ,and ironing machines to avoid any tensioning or stretching.
  • 6. Factors Affecting the Knitwear during Ironing.  The dimensional change on the knitted garment because of the direct contact between the fabric and the iron soul plate so the fabric easily deform (stretching) because the knitwear fabrics are made from the loop.  Color changing on the knit ware.  there is shine or marks on the faced of the garments because of the direct contact of iron with garments. So they need to create automatic ironing machine in order to maintain the steams distribution, pressure heat on the garment and to give good look or fresh garments .
  • 7. What is automatic ironing machine?  AIM is a design that uses an innovative framework and motorized mechanisms to effectively iron various clothes by minimizing the difficulties in the task of ironing. which is able to iron any cloth (shirt, trousers etc.) within a time frame of maximum 30-35 seconds without any external help from the user except feeding the cloth. Here two irons are used to increase the effectiveness and speed of ironing as well as reduce the overall time taken for one cloth (by ironing it from both sides i.e. up & down simultaneously).

  • 31. Features of up steam table 1. The up steam technology Is to provide stem to the garment from the surface of the table itself and then after finishing, providing suction on the same table that helps in removing the steam from the garment keeping the garment cool and dry. 2. On the upstream table steaming is done completely at the same time, where as in a normal ironing table the stem from the iron to be moved above every part of the garment to do steaming resulting in considerable wastage of time and reducing the product 3. there is no shine or marks on the faced of the garments as the steam is applied from the bottom side and the garment lock's great and presentable
  • 32. Cont… 3. The sizing of the garment can easily be done with prefixed frames over which the garment will be loaded before the start of the process resulting in stabilizing the garments sizes upon steaming 4. The technology allows steaming as well as drying from the steam table, the embroideries or printing will not come in direct contact of steaming resulting in producing good quality without spoiling the fell garments and the value addition method 5. this stand alone unit of up steam table doesn’t require any additional utilities other than the steam connection and single phase which makes it easier to instill in any factory
