Organisms survive because of evolved adaptations.
The adaptations are evident in the cells, tissues, organs and organ systems
of every living thing.

which are normally toxic.

Specialized Digestive
System
Crop - mixes food with
saliva and water.
Gizzard - muscular
organ that grinds food,
often using small
stones that the bird
has swallowed.

Eagles have 4 color receptor cells in their eyes,
compared to our three, allowing them to see into the
ultra-violet spectrum. The have sharper focus and
better long-distance vision that humans.

Tendon Sheath -
constricts to ‘lock’

position.

Photoreceptive cells in the bird’s eye
react due to different wavelengths
of light.
