1 PROJECT CHARTER PURPOSE

The Project Team will determine and identify the necessary steps for developing an e-
commerce website that encompasses a combination of business models. Our website will
illustrate these models throughout our business. We will examine each business model and
how we can incorporate it into our website. Each Team member will do extensive e-
commerce research to discover possible solutions for our new e-business. The Project Team
will become more knowledgeable on how to approach building an e-business from ground
level. The models that we will explore are the following: Business to Business, Business to
       Consumer, and Peer to Peer.

2 PROJECT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
       • Project Goal – Research B2B, B2C, and P2P e-commerce models and apply them to the
creation of a new e-commerce website that will be very successful and generate
           revenue.
       • Objectives – To create and maintain a high revenue e-commerce that is one of a kind in
           the Internet business community.
       • Scope – Deliver a quality e-business site within the time, cost, and project requirements
           defined by our Project Team.
       • Assumptions – There are many e-commerce business models that are used in today’s
Internet business world. The e-commerce industry has witnessed major growth within
           the past five years.
       • Risks – Identify and research possible risks regarding starting up a new e-business.
       • Costs – Exceeds the estimated or allotted amount of money for the project. Costs would
be considered for website specifications such as human resources, servers/equipment,
advertising and any other expenses that arise.
       • Timeline – Develop a reasonable timeline by doing research on other e-commerce
businesses. How long does it take other companies to develop and startup an e-
           business website?
       • Approach – Project manager will conduct weekly project meetings. The PM will be
responsible for delegating work and assigning project duties. The PM will communicate
via, email, phone, and conference calls.
       • Organization – E-commerce Inc. The organizational structure of this project is as follows:
    1. Doug Friend (CEO) PMP Certified
    2. Brian Bish (Project Manager)
    3. Greg Morris (Project Team Member)
    4. Martin Poirier (Project Team Member)
    5. Matt Walrath (Project Team Member)

3 PROJECT OVERVIEW
Our project’s mission is to develop a new and successful e-commerce business using a
combination of e-commerce business models such as Amazon.com and Craigslist. The site
will use Peer to Peer, Business to Consumer, and Business to Business Models. We will
examine the possible ways that these models can be maximized to develop a premier online
       business.

Our website will illustrate these models throughout our business. We will examine each business model and how we can incorporate it into our website. Each Team member will do extensive e- commerce research to discover possible solutions for our new e-business. The Project Team will become more knowledgeable on how to approach building an e-business from ground level. The models that we will explore are the following: Business to Business, Business to Consumer, and Peer to Peer. 2 PROJECT EXECUTIVE SUMMARY • Project Goal – Research B2B, B2C, and P2P e-commerce models and apply them to the creation of a new e-commerce website that will be very successful and generate revenue. • Objectives – To create and maintain a high revenue e-commerce that is one of a kind in the Internet business community. • Scope – Deliver a quality e-business site within the time, cost, and project requirements defined by our Project Team. • Assumptions – There are many e-commerce business models that are used in today’s Internet business world.
