The location for the photo shoot was within the school dance
studio, where we were able to set up a green screen with the
appropriate lighting. I think this set-up worked in my favor
because I was then able to manipulate the background of the
images easily. However, at times in certain images the light
was a bad addition because it would increase the amount of
shadow in the pictures.

I chose this image for my front cover
as I feel it is a sexy, provocative
image that will draw the attention of
my target audience. It is a mid-shot
on a slight angle, the model is
looking directly into the camera.
I chose this outfit for the model
because the tight black pants and
leather jacket suggest the model has
a bad side to her, but then the
sparkly bra contrasts this and brings
out her glamorous, flirty side!
The models hair is drawn back into a
tight ponytail, so that no focus is
taken away from her face. She is
also wearing very minimal make up.

This was the first image I chose for my
contents page, it is of my main model and
goes well with my cover shot. The image is
another mid-shot and it is taken on a slightly
low angle. The model is again looking
directly into the camera, I like this because it
helps to engage with the reader and
prompts them to read on. The model is
giving a cheeky smile with her finger on her
lips, suggesting she is making a ‘hush’
sound because she has a secret to
keep, this suggests to the reader if you read
the article you will find these secrets out.
The model is wearing the same outfit
throughout the magazine, I think this is an
advantage because it helps the reader to
recognise her straight away if she is who
they want to read about. On the other hand
it could be a disadvantage because people
may like to see her in different outfits and
there is not much variety.
5. +This is one of the more insignificant images
used on my contents page. This image was
taking in a different environment to the rest of
my images, that’s why the quality is lower. It
is still a high level image but the lighting is
just darker and more natural than the artificial
lighting used in my other shots. Even though
the model is sitting down this shot is a full
body shot taken at a mid-angle, sticking with
the ongoing trend through out my magazine,
the model is staring directly in to the camera,
making reading my magazine more personal
for the reader. The pose he is in makes him
look relaxed and approachable. The model is
wearing black jeans and a graphic t-shirt,
which portrays to the reader the image of a
‘skater boy’. Also the graphic t-shirt ties in
with the feel of my magazine, symbolising
that my product is hip and trendy.
6. +This is another image I used on the
contents page of my magazine, it is a shot
taken at a angle of three female models
holding guitars. They are all standing in
different poses, the two models on the
ends with the red guitars are holding the
instruments up quite high and their bodies
are turned slightly to the side. The model
in the middle is standing in a more relaxed
pose and slightly further forward to signify
she is the important aspect of this image.
The three of them are staring staring
directly in to the camera sticking with the
trend in my magazine. This image is for
one of the other articles in my magazine.
The band is splitting up so models are
predominantly wearing black, this
cannotes trouble, bad feelings. The outfits
have been chosen purposely to fit with the
article. The expression on each of the
models faces is cheeky, sly this signifies
to the reader if they read on they’ll find out
why they have this expression.

This was the final image I added to my
contents page and again this wasn’t
taken in the same environment as my
other images, because it is a different
model. This is a full body shot, his eye
level is in the top third of the image so
his eye-level matches the reader’s eye-
level. His body posture which is quite
relaxed contrasts with his facial
expression which is assertive and
serious, which gives the reader the
impression he is confident. The model’s
attire corresponds with the other outfit’s
in the magazine, he is wearing all black
which connotes bad, dark and highlights
that the model is a ‘bad boy’. His denim
shirt also helps to make him look current
and stylish.

It took me a while to decide which image to
use on my double page spread, I had took
so many good ones and it was hard to
decide. Initially I was planning to use more
than one image on my double page
spread, while there are numerous
magazines that do this I did not think it
looked professional enough and looked
slightly unorganised. On this image the
model is leaning against a wall, similarly to
my other images she is staring directly in
to the camera however this time she is
looking over her shoulder in to the camera.
Even though she is wearing the same outfit
it looks completely different because the
jacket has been removed which makes the
image look much more seductive. Her
facial expression portrays her as timid but
yet sexy and passionate, her hair being
loose also adds to the sex appeal her hair
on this picture looks more untamed giving
the impression she has become more wild.
