PREVENTING ALIMENTARY
DISORDERS
Jesus And Santi
●
1º To prevent obesity, you SHOULD
prevent excessive consumption of sugars
and fats, and alcoholic beverages, which
have many calories. It is also advisable to
practice some kind of sport or exercise.
●
2º You SHOULD decrease intake of
cholesterol-rich foods, such as fatty meats,
cheeses, eggs, animal fats, whole milk,
sausages, etc. And you SHOULD increase
intake of blue fish such as tuna or
sardines, which reduce blood cholesterol
levels.
●
3º You SHOULD reduce
consumption of foods cooked with
reused oils and smoked foods, which
contain substances hazardous to
health and raise the appearance of
certain types of cancer.
●
4º You SHOULD include in your diet
foods rich in dietary fiber to promote
bowel movement, prevent
constipation and avoid prolonged
contact with hazardous substances
for the intestinal wall.
●
5º You SHOULD NOT abuse food
sausages, they also contain
carcinogens.
1º You SHOULD consume vegetables
frequently, they favour the elimination
of some carcinogenic and toxic
substances.
● 2º You SHOULD include in your diet
vegetables, fruits, milk and generally
raw food as they provide all the
necessary vitamins.
● 3º You SHOULD follow a balanced
diet, to provide the three types of
nutrients in the right proportion.
●
4º You SHOULD boost your self-
esteem and confidence in yourself.
This will help to resist group
pressure and avoid certain social
tendencies which associate
perfection and success with
thinness.
●
5º You SHOULD always eat fresh
food.

3º ESO
CHEW THE FOOD
• You SHOULD chew
slowly to grind
completely the food.
In this way, the
digestion is easier
and the salivation is
stimulated.
CLEANED TEETH
• You SHOULD brush
your teeth after every
meal to eliminate the
food remains and use
dental thread to clean
perfectly the space
between the teeth,
where the brush
comes with difficulty.
VISIT THE DENTIST
• You SHOULD visit
the dentist at least
once a year.
EATING
• You SHOULD keep
the eating hours.
• You SHOULD NOT
eat at different times,
so the digestive
apparatus won’t have
a constant work.
Healthy habits to prevent
diseases of the digestive
system

3º ESO BL
• You SHOULDN´T take either foods or
beverages excessively hot because they can
produce irritation of the mucous membranes
of the mouth, the pharynx and even, the
oesophagus.
• You SHOUDN’T abuse spicy food, since they
irritate the stomach mucous membrane.
• You SHOULD wash your hands before eating
and preparing food.
• You SHOULD make sure that the food and
beverages that you consume are in perfect
state to prevent infections as well as food
poisoning.
• You SHOULD consume food with sufficient
quantity of fiber, that favours the intestinal
flow and permits a correct flow of the food
and dispense of the wastes.
• You SHOULDN’T drink alcohol. Drinking
alcohol regularly produces irreversible
damage to the liver and the pancreas and
contributes to the apparition of stomach and
oesophagus cancer.
The endThe end
Healthy habits to prevent illnesses
of the respiratory apparatus.
YOU SHOLD NOT SMOKE!
• You SHOULD NOT
smoke, you can hurt
your respiratory
track and your
lungs.
• If you inhale the
smoke of cigarettes
you inhale some
carcinogenic
substances and you
can get cancer too.
• Smoking also causes
bronchitis and
pulmonary
emphysema.
YOU SHOULD AVOID THE SUDDEN
TEMPERATURE CHANGES!
• You can suffer
respiratory
infections.
• Also, in the people
who have asthma,
these changes can
stimulate the
muscular contraction
of the bronchia.
• This can cause its
narrowing and make
more difficult the air
to pass through
them.
Healthy Habits
RESPIRATORY APPARATUS
Christian Boluda Guillen 3ºA
Healthy Habits
You SHOULD make
physical activities
regularly.
The practice of some
sports increases the
pulmonary ventilation,
as the muscles need
more oxygen.
Healthy Habits
You SHOULD practice
sport regularly, you
get a higher
pulmonary capacity
and better movement
of mucus along the
respiratory tract.
Healthy Habits
You SHOULD make an
adequate warm-up
before starting.
You SHOULD avoid excessive
consumption of foods high in
cholesterol and saturated fat. Excess
cholesterol builds up in the walls of
arteries, causing thickening and the
appearance of atheroma plaques, which
cause serious diseases.
• You SHOULD NOT smoke. Tobacco increases
the risk of atherosclerosis, particularly in the
large arteries, forming atheroma plaques and
angina pectoris.
• You SHOULD avoid overweight that is often associated
with a high amount of cholesterol in the blood and can
also cause an increase in pressure in the arteries.
