Part 1.
1: Introduce myself
1. Root (part 2)
What makes me different from everyone else?
Growing up I had nothing but the comfort of my family. 13 people in a one bedroom house.
1. Root (part 2)
Inheriting my great grandfathers work ethic, I learned at a young age that hard work pays off. He always taught me that there is nothing that I can’t do and that nothing is out of my reach.
Root (part 2)
Surrounded by the negativity lifestyle of the streets. I began to see how easy it was to be what I thought was “Successful” & I fell victim to the stereo type.
Root (part 2)
Dealing with the court system, facing prison time, people wanting to see me dead was overwhelming and I became cold and numb to my emotions
Root (part 2)
Wanting a better quality of life, I jumped off of an impulse and I joined the Army at the age of 22.
1. Root (part 2)
You would think by my history and upbringing that I would value family. Honestly I value my confidence and positive attitude the most.
1. Root (part 2)
I believe that having a great deal of confidence will take you very far. No one ever swam across the Atlantic thinking their going to drown.
Root (part 2)
I used the idea of having to go back to the street life as a steering wheel. This is what drives me. Knowing that I could end up back there is my gas pedal to success. This is what motivates me.

Skills and responsibilities
The Army has taken me from just barely being able to manage my own life to being able to manage the lives of 30 other Soldiers and their families.
Part 4
Adaptable: went from having all of my amenities with in arms reach to being deployed and spending a year in Afghanistan with the bare minimum. (use memory from the deployment)

Challenge: Started off working along side my commander, He saw my potential and I was placed in charge of “Movement” in and out of Afghanistan for 153 Soldiers and over $4.6 Billion dollars worth of equipment.
Part 4
I take on new responsibility and challenges in order to promote self growth.
Part 4
Every mistake is not a negative mistake. I have made mistakes that I am proud of and I have made some mistakes that I am not so proud of. The important thing is that I had learned from them both good and bad. It helps build character.
Part 4
The one thing that sets me apart from my peers is that fact that I don’t just believe and think that I can win….I know it..
