3. Outline
The basic outline of the story is based around a
guy who is having psychological problems
dreaming about his death. He dreams of being
killed multiple times and soon enough
everything that happens in his dreams gradually
starts to show in reality.
4. Script
The script we decided would be best as a voice
over being narrated by the main character and
the rest of the film being in silence. This is so the
audience engages with the main character
whilst be explains the story as to what is going
on inside his head.
5. Mise-en-scene and sound
• There will be little sound over than narration – the rest will be
silence – powerful effect and creates tension
• The clown custom will be red and black – both colours
indicate danger and death
• A weapon being either a dagger or bat – has an advantage
over main character being that he can attack him and the
main character has no protection
• Clothing of the main character – tracksuit looking – gives the
impression he is sporty, fit/strong and brave so could easily protect
himself and fit anything that come sin his way (The jock character
stereotypically used in horror films)
6. Location, setting and lighting
Location and Setting: For the location, we didn’t want to be
cliché in our decision by filming in a woods or an abandoned
house but instead decide to film in an isolated underpass. This is
because at night it comes across as quite dangerous as it is in the
middle of no where, it is pretty much isolated and you cant tell
what is going to be on the other side.
Lighting: In all horrors the best way to generate more fear is
through the use of the dark as it makes the scene harder to see
and acts on a popular primal fear. There will be little light apart
from in the underpass.
