and information from one country to another country on
international level.
• Globalization is usually referred to be driven by a combination
of economic, technological, sociocultural, political and
biological factors.
• Globalization could also be referred to the global spread of
ideas and languages

CONCLUSION
 In short Globalization is a gradual process and will contribute in
sustainable development of the global community as a whole.
 It is essential to the growth of the economy in today’s decline but its
negative effects need to be evaluated.
 As with most issues, the majority of people will be in the middle. They
will see globalization not as something to worship or demonize. Instead,
they will see it as something to mold, shape and manage for the
betterment of everyone.
WESTERNIZATION
 Westernization is a process in which societies adopt western cultures in
areas such as industry, technology, law, politics, economies and lifestyles,
clothing, language etc.
 According to M.N. Srinivas, “Westernization” refers to “the changes
brought about in the Indian society and culture as a result of over 150
years of British rule and the term subsumes changes occurring at
different levels technology, institutions, ideology and values.
WESTERNIZATION IMPACT ON
THE INDIAN CULTURE.
 Westernization is a kind of globalization which is spreading
throughout Asian countries especially in India. The Indian culture is
ones of the oldest and the richest cultures however, now that the
western culture is kicking in, e.g. goods, festivals, dressings, foods
etc., it is impacting on the Indian culture in many ways. The western
culture is that it is replacing itself with the Indian culture.

CONCLUSION
Westernization has brought many negative impacts on India however,
it has also brought many benefits as well although, there are more
advantages of westernization compared to the disadvantages. Still,
India should take care of this globalization because in the future, it
will change India and destroy it's religion, culture and tradition.
MODERNIZATION
 Modernization theory is used to explain the process of
modernization within societies. Modernization refers to a model of a
progressive transition from a 'pre-modern' or traditional to a
'modern' society.

 Mass communication

IMPACT OF MODERNIZATION

 Craving for more earnings for enjoying the luxuries.

CONCLUSION
Modernization involves transformation towards progress
democratic, socio-economic and scientific ideals. Modernization as
a process of change requires both structural and functional
changes. Mutual tolerance, respect for other’s views and equality
among all are the essential requisites of modernity.

WESTERNIZATION  Westernization is a process in which societies adopt western cultures in areas such as industry, technology, law, politics, economies and lifestyles, clothing, language etc.  According to M.N. Srinivas, “Westernization” refers to “the changes brought about in the Indian society and culture as a result of over 150 years of British rule and the term subsumes changes occurring at different levels technology, institutions, ideology and values.
  • 8. WESTERNIZATION IMPACT ON THE INDIAN CULTURE.  Westernization is a kind of globalization which is spreading throughout Asian countries especially in India. The Indian culture is ones of the oldest and the richest cultures however, now that the western culture is kicking in, e.g. goods, festivals, dressings, foods etc., it is impacting on the Indian culture in many ways. The western culture is that it is replacing itself with the Indian culture.
