It is all that we use in our real life,
               real context.
Adapting Authentic Material?

                 ss` level of knowledge
 ss` ages
              At lower levels
 Children
             Simple tasks and undemanding
             pre-teach key vocabulary
 Young
              At more intermediate levels
 Adult      pre-teaching

              At higher levels
             vocabulary
Material adaptation

 Teacher should make changes to
 autenthical materials for improving and
 make more understandable to
 students.

 Teachers can modify or adding the
 information.
How to select authentic materials?

selection criteria

they are motivating.
they do not forget easily.
they have to be organized in some way
they have to be selected in terms of their
 language and content.
How to use authentic material effectively
           in the classroom

1. Use recent material that is not dated
2. Choose material that you can find several copies
3. Choose relatively short/concise material
4. Laminate or choose material that will be able to
   withstand over time
5. Choose material that is appropriate for the age level
6. Questions/exercises to accompany the activity
7. Have students work in groups
Activities

Conclusion

Authentic materials is an important
 way in order to improve the skills
 because help bring the real world
  into the classroom. However, it
 must be selected and controlled
              carefully.
