Clara Jackson
Target Audience Exemplar
• Here is an representational example (image) of my
target audience; the demographic and psychographics
of this specific target audience member is a female
aged between 17 and 21 who has a strong interest in
music, festivals and individual fashion/self expression.
She expresses happiness and is enjoying a popular
festival atmosphere.
• This target audience would listen to mostly
alternative/acoustic music – particularly bands like Alt-J,
The Wombats, Haim and Peace – and also dress in an
‘indie’ style. They will shop on online apparels and
stores such as Urban Outfitters. They spend their money
on music, concerts and merchandise as well as
fashionable items to strengthen their personal image.
Other interests include photography, travelling, playing
instruments (guitar, for example), social medias and
socialising with friends. My previous audience research
gives evidence/back up to this statement.
Audience Product
• My target audience would want to buy my magazine because it
includes features specifically designed to appeal to them. These
features include images of people who share a similar style to
what they wish to express through themselves as well as
information regarding the type of music and artists/bands they
regularly listen to. My products follow genre conventions and
meet magazine standards, therefore successfully appeals to my
target audience.
• Specific advertisements in my product which would attract my
target audience are the exclusive posters and articles of
bands/artists they’d listen to within the alternative music genre.
As well as this, my product offers free downloads which would
greatly appeal to my audience as it is something they’d be very
interested in and feel that by buying my magazine their personal
interests would be benefited. Other advertisements that attract
my target audience is the articles regarding upcoming festivals
and tours. This is because my target audience enjoy attending
these events, therefore this information would particularly appeal
to this group of people. As well as this, the social media
links/convergence which my product gives is another appeal
because my target audience are frequently in touch with various
online networks.
