Editor's Notes
Also Slaw.ca
Confluence is also used by SLA
Wiki-based content management system has social networking features
Not just for personal work, can also be used as an enterprise version
There are many others in this category e.g. Smartsheets, Zoho Projects, and many many others
Also Tungle.me, Timebridge
There are many other social bookmarking sites. Recent rumors of Delicious being sold had a number of people jumping to Diigo.
This is a new area, although some companies have been using applications developed in-house for years. IdeaScale, Kindling and Spigit. Great examples: mystarbucksidea.com and ideastorm.com from Dell. Large companies are using this technology in-house as well, both to brainstorm and vote on new ideas, but also to allow people to take ownership of ideas and help make them reality.
