  2. 2. www.noneets.eu NoNEETs Project WHAT IS IT ABOUT? NoNEETs Project The NoNEETs E.U. project is financed by the European Commission within the LLP Lifelong Learning Programme and involves organizations from six different countries: Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic. The phenomenon of NEETS concerns the whole Europe and it is a priority within the European Program considering that today the NEETS represent the largest and the most heterogeneous category in the context of youth unemployment: in Europe there are actually almost 16 million young people aged between 15 and 29 years old excluded from the world of work and education. The population of Neets includes individuals with different profiles, experiences and needs but the common condition for which they are not currently acquiring knowledge and competencies through formal education and institutional channels. The NEETS are: • long term or short term unemployed people; • young people with family responsibilities, sick or disabled; • disengaged people for indolence, discouragement, living in poor environments or being involved in risky behaviors; • young people seeking for education, training or job opportunities; • volunteers. WHAT IS THE PROJECT AIM? -- To identify characteristics, needs and interests of the NEET population; -- To analyze the phenomenon of NEETs in comparison with other European countries: commonalities and differences; -- To devise and implement a Joint Programme based on the demand of the final beneficiaries to be replicated in other territories; -- To involve young adults in different activities to enhance their motivational skills and competences to take part in the education system, labour market and society; -- To raise the public on the importance of the process of lifelong learning and social reintegration of the NEET young adults. WHAT DOES IT OFFER? -- Development of research activities within individual organizations and among the partners (Individual Report and Joint Report about condition of NEETS); -- Sharing, exchange and transfer of contents and methodologies through technical meetings (Project Meetings); -- Creation of a Joint Training and Assessment Programme based on best practices recognized and experienced in the partner countries and results of research activities; -- Implementation of Pilot Training Paths; -- Implementation of a wide Action of communication and dissemination by: • Creation of an online portal dedicated to the project (Website); • Promotion of opportunities for reflection and awareness (Local Events). WHO IS AIMED AT? -- NEETs, involved directly in the project activities, and their families; -- partner countries and the whole European Society; -- stakeholders (National, Regional and Local communities, public and private institutions, social organizations and employment agencies, policy- makers, media, educators and trainers). no_neets noneets Brochure_NoNeets_Atlante_EN.indd 2 10/10/14 08:59
