NoNEETs Project
The NoNEETs E.U. project is financed by the European Commission within the LLP Lifelong Learning Programme and involves organizations from six different countries: Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Romania, Czech Republic.
The phenomenon of NEETS concerns the whole Europe and it is a priority within the European Program considering that today the NEETS represent the largest and the most heterogeneous category in the context of youth unemployment: in Europe there are actually almost 16 million young people aged between 15 and 29 years old excluded from the world of work and education.
The population of Neets includes individuals with different profiles, experiences and needs but the common condition for which they are not currently acquiring knowledge and competencies through formal education and institutional channels.
The NEETS are:
•
long term or short term unemployed people;
•
young people with family responsibilities, sick or disabled;
•
disengaged people for indolence, discouragement, living in poor environments or being involved in risky behaviors;
•
young people seeking for education, training or job opportunities;
•
volunteers.
