WORLD CLEANUP 2015
ZELENA I PLAVA ČISTKA
April, May 2015
2. Let’s Do It! World cleanup is a civic led
mass movement
which began in Estonia during 2008
when 50,000 people gathered to clean
up the entire country in just five hours.
It is now an international movement
with 112 countries working together,
engaging over 11 million participants.
Croatia joined the movement in 2012, more than 40000
volunteers cleaned illegally dumped waste.
Croatian Education and Teacher Training Agency invited
schools to clean the area around schools. All students and
teachers of Osnovna škola Bartola Kašića participated in
cleaning and planting flowers and trees on 17 April 2015.
3. Students had to cut old
branches and prepare
flower beds for new
plants.
8. Shredding branches can be
dangerous, so it was a
teacher’s job. Chopped
branches will be put on a
compost heap.
9. Students can enjoy spending time with their friends in
our beautiful green park.
10. Every 9 May, the European Union celebrates peace and
unity on ‘Europe Day’. This year the 9th of May was also a
day for an unique action – Let´s Do It Mediterranean aimed
for a million people to clean up the Mediterranean Sea.
Vinkovci is far from the Adriatic sea, but we have our small
artificial lakes and “Plava čistka” was organized .
15. Divers helped to find and
pull out junk from the
lake. They even found a
car!
16. We washed our hands, and
while we were having
sandwiches and soft drinks,
we were talking about
summer days by the lake
Banja. If it is necessary, we
will clean the banks again.
