Space Craft,
Space Probe,
Space Station,
Space Shuttle and
Rocket
What is
Space craft;
Space probe;
Space station;
Space shuttle ; and
Rockets?
Aspacecraft (or spaceship) is a
vehicle, vessel or machine
designed to fly in outer space.
Spacecraft are used for a
variety of
purposes, including communication
s, earth
observation, meteorology, navigatio
n, planetary
exploration and transportation of hu
mans and cargo .
Aspace probe is a scientific space exploration mission in
which a spacecraft leaves Earth and explores space. It may
approach the Moon; enter interplanetary space; flyby, orbit or
land on other planetary bodies; or approach interstellar space.
Space probes are a form of robotic spacecraft. The Voyager
1 is one of the most famous space probes.
Aspace station (or orbital station) is
a spacecraft capable of supporting a crew which is
designed to remain in space (most commonly in low Earth
orbit) for an extended period of time, and to which other
spacecraft can dock.Aspace station is distinguished from
other spacecraft used for human spaceflight by lack of
major propulsion or landing systems. Instead other
vehicles transport people and cargo to and from the
station.
• As of November 2012 two space stations are
in orbit: the International Space Station, and
China's Tiangong 1 (which successfully
launched on September 29, 2011, after
failing in its prior August launch attempt)
The Space Shuttle was a crewed, partially reusable low Earth
orbital spacecraft operated by the U.S. NationalAeronautics and
SpaceAdministration(NASA). Its official program name
was Space Transportation System, taken from a 1969 plan for a
system of reusable spacecraft of which it was the only item
funded for development
Arocket is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or
other vehicle that obtains thrust from a rocket engine.
Rocket engine exhaust is formed entirely
from propellants carried within the rocket before
use. Rocket engines work by action and reaction. Rocket
engines push rockets forward simply by throwing their
exhaust backwards extremely fast.
