1. Technology Ease of use Performance
Apple Mac
SD card reader
For the editing
process of our
opening
sequence, and to
finish our media
product, I had to
use an Apple Mac
and a range of
software that was
all new to me. It
was my first time
using a large
majority of these
items, and so I
was required to
learn and pick up
instructions
quickly. Overall, I
managed to find
the mac easy to
use, and picked
up the system
fairly simply.
The Apple mac
systems do have a
vast range of
software that cannot
not be found on
other operating
systems, and so the
college and our
group were very
privileged to have
them. They aided the
fluidity of our piece,
helping us construct
it with haste and
precision. The
capability and
reliability they have is
similar to the
standard used in
professional media
institutes and
studios. One minor
error we had did
involve a faulty SD
card reader.
However, this was no
fault of the mac
itself.
Final cut Pro The most
important
software I used
was First Cut Pro.
It is an editing
software, perfect
for our opening
sequence. It was
straight forward,
co-operated well,
and was easy to
pick up.
In conclusion, it was
easily accessible and
gave us no real issues
with editing. It had a
very positive impact
on the construction
of our piece.
2. We filmed on two separate cameras. They
were:
1. Panasonic Lumix
2. Sony slt a35
I had experience
using the
Panasonic in the
past, and so used
that more than
the rest of my
group. Connor
had a large
amount of skill
and expertise
using the Sony,
which is why he
used it the most.
That was the
camera the
majority of our
shots were taken
from, as its lens
worked perfectly
alongside the
lighting we had.
Both were
exceptionally good
across all the
scenes we shot,
and cooperated
well in terms of
exposure, tripod
compatibility,
memory space, and
even battery life.
They both
impacted our
product for the
better as they gave
us great shots in
great quality.
3. Tripod The tripod we
used was new to
me, and so I
relied on my
group to set it
up. However,
after watching
them use it once,
I soon
understood how
to use it.
Therefore, I set it
up for the next
scene with ease.
Its manoeuvrability
and little weight
meant it was more
than ideal, as it also
sped up our filming
process. It impacted
our process
positively without
doubt, and gave our
product shots it may
not have had without
a tripod.
For the Research and evaluation process', I used multiple different software's
and websites to show my work and findings. These included:
Prezi
Wideo
Glogger
Slideshare
These all benefited my work, and helped clearly and easily explain and
display work.
Conclusion
4. I was happy with all the technology I used, and would use it again for other
pieces of media too. As well as this, I felt the technology I used positively
impacted my piece and increased its quality.
