Game Prototype - Although our aim is to create Prototypes, we also want to challenge you - with 9 weeks and so many different distribution channels available, you might be able to create a full small game ready to release immediately after Dare.

So, if you are a team from Northern Ireland you must have at least 1 person in your team studying in further education and/or a 3rd level college in the Republic of Ireland. Likewise if you are a team from the Republic of Ireland you must have at least 1 team member studying in further education and/or a 3rd level college in Northern Ireland. Teams should contain a balance of artists and programmers and other necessary disciplines A mix of students from further education and third level colleges in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Depends on game – programming heavy. Art heavy – audio based game etc As long as you show on application why you have chosen the team dynamic you have, and that you can make the game you propose with the team skills you have. 1 programmer/artist – have to be damn good!

Please make sure you think it through even at this application stage. You are free to choose any engine or software you want to use for your game. Due to costs issue, we recommend the teams to use as much open source as possible. Sponsorship will need to be sought on any paid licenses and there's no guarantee that we can get it. Every team has the maximum of one week to finalise their wishlist of hardware and software requirement.
