• Emphasis is on Teaching and Learning rather than
research
• Digital T and L includes online and blended learning
• In fact, “digital” issues arise for all types of modules
• Legal issues may be complex and require specialised
advice. We do not have all the “answers”.
10. Learning Outcomes
• Create learning materials (for blended and online
modules) which comply with Irish copyright law
• Create assessment tools which comply with copyright law
• Use appropriate techniques to find material which may be
used safely in learning materials
• Demonstrate awareness of developments such as
Creative Commons, Open Educational Resources and
open source software
• Communicate relevant requirements of copyright law to
learners who take part in modules

The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is a new sectoral network established to enhance teaching and learning in Irish Higher Education through: Advocacy and leadership Connecting excellent practice CollaborationInnovation and the mobilisation of expertise throughout the entire higher education system in IrelandIn addition, it aims to find efficient ways of maximising teaching and learning excellence by focusing the energy and expertise of the sector on specific, strategic enhancement themes – with a view to addressing challenges of collective importance to the sector.
