4. Hello, today I'm going to talk to you about my house. My house is in London. It is
a detached house, which means it's not joined on to any other houses. It is
separate. Downstairs there's a utility room where we keep the washing machine,
the drier and a freezer. Also downstairs there's a kitchen, living room,
conservatory and a bathroom. The kitchen is quite big, it has a dining table where
we eat, so we don't have a separate dining room. There's the living room, where
we usually sit and watch TV. This is the conservatory, where we sit and look at the
garden and watch the wildlife in the garden. Even though we live in a city our
garden has foxes, squirrels and lots of different birds.
Upstairs there are two big bedrooms, two small bedrooms, a bathroom and a study
where my husband has his computer and where he works. We moved to this
house in the year 2000 and we are quite happy here. It's near the station and
very convenient for the shops.
What about your house? What's it like.
5. 1.Cosy: Just because a space is small it doesn’t mean it cannot be lovely. A room or
house that is small, but very comfortable and warm could be described as cosy!
2.Rustic: You can also use adjectives to describe the style of furniture and design
in your house. If you have a home with a country style interior, you can call
it rustic.
3.Traditional: In our modern world it can be very beautiful to
keep traditional styles at home, which are old-fashioned and familiar.
