Mr. Mark Saunders, Group Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, AIA Group Limited
Aged 52, is the Group Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer responsible for the Group’s strategy, customer
propositions, corporate transactions, and marketing. He provides leadership and support on all of these functions at
the Group level. He joined the Group in April 2014.
Prior to joining the Group, Mr. Saunders was Managing Director of Towers Watson for the Asia-Pacific Insurance
Sector, as well as Managing Director for the firm’s Hong Kong office. Prior to joining Towers Watson, he was Asian
Regional Leader, Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer, and Executive Director and Board Member of the Isle of Man-
based international life insurance operations of Clerical Medical and its joint venture life insurer in Korea (Coryo-
CM). Mr. Saunders has been involved in the insurance industry in Asia since 1989. He is a Fellow of the Institute
and Faculty of Actuaries and Fellow of five other professional actuarial bodies.
Dr. Jeremy Lim, a Partner in the Health & Life Sciences practice of the global consulting firm Oliver
Wyman
He leads client initiatives throughout the Asia Pacific region. Jeremy has extensive experience advising multinational
clients on national and regional strategies for market positioning and expansion, including acquisitions and guidance
on various regional healthcare reforms.
His broad-based background and network of healthcare leaders in both the public and private sectors enable him to
bring unique and comprehensive solutions to his clients.
A medical doctor dually trained in surgery and public health, Jeremy thoughtfully balances healthcare as a vocation
with its managerial and commercial requirements and offers special insights into advising health systems on
financing mechanisms and public-private partnerships.

Dr. Derek Yach, Chief Health Officer of the Vitality Group, part of Discovery Holdings Ltd.
Dr. Derek Yach (MBChB, MPH) focuses on advancing global health. Prior to that he was SVP Global Health and
Agriculture Policy at PepsiCo.
He has headed global health at the Rockefeller Foundation, has been a Professor of Global Health at Yale
University, and is a former Executive Director for Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health of the World
Health Organization (WHO). He has also established the Centre for Epidemiological Research at the South African
Medical Research Council.
He has authored or co-authored over 250 articles covering the breadth of global health and is regularly cited by the
Huffington Post, New York Times and Economist. Dr. Yach serves on several advisory boards including those of the
Clinton Global Initiative, the World Economic Forum’s Steering Committee on the Future of Health and the Wellcome
Trust. He is a founder Board member of Cornerstone Capital. He lives in Connecticut, USA. His main leisure activity
involves swimming in pools, rivers and the ocean.
Mr. Sim Beng Khoon, Director, Health Promotion Board, a statutory board of the Ministry of Health,
Singapore
As director of its Workplace Health and Outreach Division, Mr. Sim oversees the planning and implementation of the
national strategy to promote health in the various key workplace settings in Singapore. He leads the team in
engaging policy and decision makers in government, public agencies, businesses and unions to facilitate the roll-out
of targeted health initiatives for the resident workforce.
He is a member of the Tripartite Oversight Committee on Workplace Health which is co-chaired by government
ministers from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Manpower. He is also a member of the Workplace Safety and
Health Council (Workplace Health) Committee.
Before joining the Workplace Health team, Mr Sim was in Obesity Prevention. He spearheaded the launch of
national level initiatives such as the Healthier Dining Programme and the Healthier Ingredients Scheme which were
aimed at getting food manufacturers and F&B operators to provide healthier choices to the consuming public.
He graduated with a degree in Social Science and a MBA from the National University of Singapore.#AIAVitalitySummit2016

Mr. Patrick Teow is the Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore, responsible for overseeing and managing AIA's operations in
Singapore. With a strong track record of transforming agency teams into strong contributors of business growth, his experience
spans more than 30 years within the life insurance industry both locally and regionally, succeeding in key leadership roles
throughout his career.
Since joining AIA in July 2013 as Chief Executive Officer of AIA Group Agency Distribution, Patrick has been driving the company’s
success across multiple markets by boosting productivity levels and creating a strong Premier Agency culture focused on quality
and professionalism. In 2015, under his stewardship, AIA Group rose to become the top ranking company on the prestigious
Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) membership list, internationally recognised as the standard of excellence in the life insurance
and financial services business. He was also the member of AIA Group’s Operational Risk Committee.

A frequent speaker at industry and business events, Andrew
Thomas brings energy, humour and insight when moderating
conferences and panel discussions involving many senior
political figures and business leaders from the region. He has
spoken at global and regional conferences such as Singapore
Business Federation SME Convention, HR Summits, World
Islamic Economic Forum, Pacific Conferences and the
upcoming Singapore Chinese Chamber for the Annual SME
Conference and the Infocomm Commerce Conference.
Andrew is also the lead media coach for the region. In his role,
Andrew counsels a wide variety of Singapore and regional
CEOs, working with them to shape positioning and stories from
brand narratives. Andrew has worked with senior executives
from all major business sectors and has coached senior
executive for the last decade from the likes of UBS, Canon,
UPS and American Express. In the last decade he has
supported senior leadership teams from many of the region’s
most dynamic public and private sector organisations as they
seek to build their brands in the fast-growing markets of
Southeast Asia.
As a Board member and advisor on a number of government
panels he is aware of the cultural and organizational issues
impacting and shaping business and cultures across the
region. Some of these include: EXCO of IAA Singapore,
Board Members of BRITCHAM, and Singapore Polytechnic’s
Advisory Committee Member.
Andrew Thomas has spent the last 30 years in the
communications business – over 25 of these in Asia. Prior to
joining Ogilvy PR, Andrew worked in the publishing arena for
20 years, managing the business operations of
the International Herald Tribune in South Asia.
In his decade with Ogilvy & Mather, Andrew has led Ogilvy
PR to become the largest and most awarded PR firm in
Singapore. He was appointed regional managing director of
Southeast Asia in January 2010 and then President of
Southeast Asia & India in January 2014.
