- Except the poor & old, most get hc through work. Baked into virtually every legacy business model in hc is assumption that employers remain derelict in their fiduciary duty. There’s an event that should be on the frontpage of the WSJ in the coming weeks that will be the canary in the coal mine of an Enron-like event. As we know, corporate governance was forever changed as a result. This creates great investment opportunities if focused in the right areas.
- Let’s just look at the employer side of the equation. People worry about things like obesity and smoking but that pales in comparison to systemic “obesity” Unnecessary: 40% of planned transplants, 90% of spinal procedures Fraud: 1st case is >500k claims for >$400M at last count -- one of the most famous/fierce law firms in the world is readying cases that are in the tobacco/asbestos range PPO: Perhaps the biggest joke in the hc system
- A fractal is a never-ending pattern. Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. Driven by recursion, fractals are images of dynamic systems – the pictures of Chaos. Geometrically, they exist in between our familiar dimensions. Fractal patterns are extremely familiar, since nature is full of fractals. For instance: trees, rivers, coastlines, mountains, clouds, seashells, hurricanes, etc. Abstract fractals – such as the Mandelbrot Set – can be generated by a computer calculating a simple equation over and over.
