This slideshow presents a prototype solution developed over a weekend (10-12 July, 2015) to support people with Dementia during agitations. Our prototype, Ambient Room, changes the room environment (light, music, & visuals) slowly when the person with Dementia is in agitations. The change in the room environment not only serves as an ambient environment for the person to get relaxed, but also provides feedback to their caregivers about their physiological state.

“When used appropriately, our senses can shift mood, manage stress-induced agitation, stimulate positive interactions, facilitate cognitive function and coordinate motor movements.”
