2. IMAGINARY LINES
• On maps and globes there are imaginary lines.
We use these lines to describe a location on
the Earth’S surface. The vertical lines from the
North pole to the South pole are called
meridians. They are measured in degrees East
or West. Meridian 0 is the Greenwich
Meridian. The horizontal lines around the
earth are called parallels. They are measured
in degrees North or South.
4. THE EARTH MOVEMENT
• Rotation is the movement of the Earth on its
own axis. It spins around the earth. It takes 24
hours to make a complete rotation. It causes
day and night.
5. THE EARTH LAYER
• The Earth has three main parts: the
atmosphere, the hydrosphere and the
geosphere.
6. • The astronomers study the Sun , the
Moon,planets and other objects in space.
