2. Electricity is made of atoms
Protons Electrons
Positive Charge Negative Charge
3. Neutral or charged ?
- When there is an equal number of protons and electrons we
say that the object is ELECTRICALLY NEUTRAL .
- When there are more protons that electrons we say that
the object is POSITIVELY CHARGED.
- When there are more electrons that protons we say that
the object is NEGATIVELY CHARGED.
Electrons can move
Electrons can move from one object to another .
4. Electric Current
• Electric Current is the movement of negatively charged
electrons through materials .
Conductors : These materials allow electricity to flow
easily . We use these materials in electrical circuits.
Insulators : Insulators don't allow electricity to flow easily and
we use these materials to protect ourselves.
7. Magnetism
• Magnetism is a property of some materials .
They can attract or repel .
If we put their identical poles togheter , the magnets repel each otrher
If we put their opposite poles together , the magnets attract each other
