Currently in its fi rst phase of development,
Dube City comprises a 12-hectare site that
will increase to 24 hectares when completed.

Dube AgriZone is Africa’s fi rst
integrated perishable supply chain.
It’s an IT integrated high-tech agricultural
cluster that hosts the largest climate-controlled
growing area on the continent. 16 hectares
of climate-controlled, glass-covered growing
facilities produce vegetables and fl owers for
the local and export markets. The quality of
produce is consistently superior and ensures
continuity of supply with high yields all
year round.
The produce enters the cold chain within
minutes of cutting. It then fl ows through to the
AgriZone’s own post-harvest pack houses and
then on to a high-care fresh produce handling,
packing and distribution centre.
The pack houses provide facilities to pre-cool,
wash, grade, sort and pack fresh produce
ahead of distribution. Ranging in size from
1 500 square metres to 2 000 square metres,
they also include short-term transit cold
storage amenities.
Handling time from harvest to being transit-ready
is kept to the absolute minimum, allowing
AgriZone produce to have the longest shelf life,
both locally and internationally.
A state-of-the-art tissue culture facility, Dube
AgriLab, is also available to develop new plant
breeds, ensuring constant innovation
of plant stock. The AgriZone is the most
technologically advanced future farming
platform in Africa and ensures the freshest
possible produce after harvesting.
