The area reflects a rural profile with a younger population, a median household income of +-R 2500 p.m.
Shopping patterns and retail facilities
Previously most retail spent took placed outside the township towards Durban CBD and Pinetown.
Most of the retail spent is now captured by the newly constructed 18000sqm Hammarsdale Mall constructed by ERIS property Group.
Other grocery stores available include Boxer Superstore and Hammarsdale Hyper located 8-10km from the town centre.
