2. A hero is…
A hero is a person who is compassionate, respectful,
smart, kindhearted, and brave. They are not afraid to
take risks and will learn from their mistakes if they
fail. They are not afraid to fight for what they believe
in too. They show great characteristics in a person
which makes them like able . Doing good deeds
shows their heroism, and proves they can do great
things in life!
4. Background
He was born on January 15, 1929 - Died April 4, 1968 (age 39)
In his grandparents Victorian house on Auburn Avenue in Atlanta,
Georgia.
He was the second child of three, since his grandfather was a
sharecropper near the small town of Stock Bridge so he earned
very little money. At the age of sixteen he left Stock Bridge with
nothing but a sixth grade education and a pair of shoes.
He worked odd jobs and slowly became a preacher, he met his
future wife outside of church one day. They married and moved
into a house on Auburn Street.
5. Motivation
What drove Martin to do this is, he thought all people
should be treated equal no matter what skin color you
have.
He needed it so he could be free from segregation and
other blacks would be free
On the night Rosa Parks was arrested E.D Nixon planned
a city wide bus boycott.
On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a
speech to over 250,000 people called "I have a dream".
6. Trials
Martin faced a lot of obstacles like,
Being sent to jail for fighting for what he believed in.
People trying to kill him.
He had difficulty trying to get people to follow and
commit.
He had to find ways for people to listen to what he had
to say.
7. Help
He received help with people listening and following
him, getting people to join forces so his message
would have a greater impact.
He won awards so that helped him get noticed quite
often.
8. Lesson Learned
The lesson he probably learned was, to fight for what
you believe in.
People will respect your opinion if you respect their
opinion.
Follow your dreams, and do something good in the
world.

Martin is the unique definition because, he took risks and fought for
what he believed in!
He was brave to make a stand against segregation
He was kind hearted and cared for other people's rights.
He functioned with power and capability when people believed in him
he believed in himself.
He fights against civil rights.
He is not quiet and will speak his thoughts if he thinks they important
to hear.
