This document discusses eG Innovations, a provider of enterprise performance management software. It monitors physical, virtual, cloud and hybrid environments. The document outlines eG's proposition of providing a single console to monitor heterogeneous and hybrid clouds. It highlights eG's support for various applications, platforms, operating systems and technologies. The document also demonstrates eG's capabilities like automated discovery, diagnostics, reporting and analytics across physical, private and public cloud infrastructures.
As per a research – 25% workload remain on premise (reason- data security, law of the land, cost), 60% are migrated to IaaS (lift/Shift model). Only 10% where application re-engineering is required are moved to Cloud as CaaS and PaaS.
Once substantial maturity are attained, very small components are looked as function – basically for automation of tasks or service calls
Typical practice is, Orgs migrate to cloud using lift and shift with low impact workloads (non-production)
Once confidence is builds enterprise apps and dev environments are moved
Post that application re-architecture is considered for PaaS & CaaS
In any environment, the time it takes to isolate and diagnose any performance issue takes the longest time and therefore it is the most costly as business continues to be impacted.
Imagine if you have to navigate through x number of tools to find the bottleneck, the time to isolate and diagnose may be even greater.
The trick is how much effort it takes to identify the bottleneck when a reported slowness may be caused by hardware, network, system, application etc. determines how well you can respond to users.
To reduce the time it takes to isolate and diagnose. To reduce mean-time-to-repair
Being able to take that our means you can better tell users when they can start using the system.
