Subjectivity

Value is the eye of the beholder. All value is subjective, not objective.

Free trade creates value

Trading freely creates value even though the physical nature of the
good remains the same.

Win-win

In aggregate, free exchange is a win-win game.

Rule of law

The game works because the rules are stated upfront and adhered to
by the participants.

Scarcity

Scarcity can be a factor, but it alone does not create value.

Opportunity costs

There are tradeoffs, not solutions. It is not, “Do I want it?” but “How
much do I want it?”

The more the merrier

The more available trading partners, the more value is created.
