Occlusions
The C.R.V.O is an end Vein , its occlusion
leads to complete defective of vision in the
morning.

3. Aetiology
 In vein wall.
 In side vein.
 Outside vein.

4. In vein wall
- Vascular diseases in old people as
diabetes ,hypertension arterio-sclerosis.
-Infective phlebitis as after typhoid
,influenza & Eales disease.

5. In side vein
-Increased coagulabitiy as in
polycythaemia, sevedehydration.

6. Outside vein
- Pressure on C.R.V as in orbital
cellulites.

7. Symptoms
Defective vision observed in the morning.

8. Signs
 Pupil ~ dilated and
sluggish
 Vein ~ engorged and
tortuosity
 Retina ~ extensive
haemorrhages
 Macula ~ macula edema

9. Complications
 Neovascularisation mostly on the disc & in
the angel of A/C.
 Glaucoma 20% after 3 months.

10. TREATMENT
 Anti-coagulants heparin.
 Cyclodiathermy .
 Cyclocryotherapy.
 Retrobulbar alcohol inj.
