Beginners Guide to TikTok for Search - Rachel Pearson - We are Tilt __ Bright...
An Open Letter to Brands on Twitter About Tweeting During Crises
1.
2. We get it. You want to show us
that you are
human,
that you care,
that you are about more
than just
you.
3. ((and Twitter can be a
great and appropriate place
to do these things)
4. so you tell us you are
and that
and
and make sure we know that
etc. etc. etc.
5. Perhaps you are worried that
if you don’t tweet
about a given crisis,
Your followers will think you are
callous
or
on the “side”
of the terrorists
or the explosion
or the sinkhole.
6. We won’t.
We won’t notice you at all
if you don’t tweet
about the crisis
or don’t tweet*
during the crisis
*unless tweeted to
7. and occasionally, even for
a brand, it is okay
not to be noticed, even
just and
fitting
not to be noticed*.
*C’mon, I’m only talking a few hours here.
8. So, please, unless you have useful
information to impart to your
followers about or during a crisis--
9.
10. telling us that you are
thinking and praying--
(you can use the time you
spend going respectfully
silent on Twitter--so others
can disseminate important
information uninterrupted
by tweets that ultimately
come off as commercials--
to think and pray)
11. and that silence will
show us
that you are
human, ,
that you care,
that you are
about more
than just you.
