- Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Enactus. I want to share some information about this great organization and what our Enactus team is doing to enable progress through entrepreneurial action.
- First, we’re going to start with some basic information about the Enactus organization.
- Enactus is a combination of 3 words that help tell the story of the organization. “En” stands for “entrepreneurial” because we use the entrepreneurial spirit to see opportunity in problems and create solutions. “Act” stands for “action.” This is because Enactus students don’t just talk about what they wish we could do; we take action to improve the world around us. The end of the word, “us” represents the organization as a group of students, educators business leaders who all work together to change the world.
- Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. As an international organization with 36 participating countries all over the world, we have succeeded in impacting 2,800,000 people. 66,500 students just like you, from 1,650 universities, are members. Our entrepreneurial action is supported by 450 partners like Walmart, KPMG and Unilever or a global scale, and even (insert some of your team’s partners here).

- So how does all this work? Well, let’s dive into that next.
- An Enactus team starts with a group of university students who want to have a positive impact on the world, like us! Our team was founded in XXXX with XX members. Now, it has grown to XX members. Each Enactus team has at faculty advisor to mentor and coach the team. Our Faculty Advisor is XXX. We also have a local business advisory board to assist our team on projects from a business perspective. *List Business Advisory Board Members and Introduce Enactus team.*
- Enactus has an important focus on the development of its student members. As members we are able to network with business leaders and learn up-to-date business and leadership skills at training conferences that are held throughout the year by the Enactus organization. Interfacing with business leaders through our Business Advisory Board and at Enactus competitions also give us this opportunity. Our projects allow us to step outside the comfort of the classroom to apply our knowledge to real solutions that affect real people. This hands-on learning approach is key as we seek opportunities, brainstorm solutions and carry them out. *Talk about the most important thing you’ve learned from Enactus.*
- Our community outreach projects are all built with the aim of meeting the Enactus Judging Criterion: “Which Enactus team most effective used entrepreneurial action to empower people to improve their livelihoods in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable way. For example: *Describe a few projects your team has done or projects that you admire which other teams have done.*

- Denise Morrison, President & CEO of The Campbell Soup Company, tells the story of Coffee Green from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in China.
- J.P. Bilbrey, President & CEO of The Hershey Company, tells the story of Izenzozomusa by CIDA City Campus in South Africa.
- Andrew Cranston, Global COO for KPMG, tells the story of Project Pasni by Universidad del Valle de Mexico campus Texcoco in Mexico.
- Muhtar Kent, Chairman & CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, tells the story of OneDollarGlasses by the University of Munich in Germany.
- Kees Kruythoff, President of Unilever North America, tells the story of Project Naya Ujala by Institute of Technology and Management University in India.
- All of our hard work culminates in competitions that give us an opportunity to connect with other Enactus students, learn from the projects they are doing, gain presentation skills and network with the business leaders that attend and judge the competitions. One representative team from each country competes at the Enactus World Cup. The 2015 Enactus World Cup will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa in October. *Talk about how your team did at the last competition*

- Now, let’s talk about why you should join Enactus.
- Our projects generate sustainable solutions that rejuvenate communities and give hope to those who need it most. Enactus really encourages students to see opportunity and take action to improve the world around us.
- When you join Enactus, you are not just in another student organization. You are applying the skills you have learned in class to positively impact the world. In organizing and carrying out projects, we brainstorm ideas, work as a team and are able to develop leadership skills. At competitions, we get practice in public speaking and networking. *Talk about what real world experience you have gained from Enactus.*
- After becoming a member of Enactus, you will continue to benefit long after graduation. Through career fairs and unique resources, Enactus helps students find jobs after graduation. Students are also able to make valuable connections with business leaders at Enactus events that can translate into future careers. *Tell a story about a networking event or career resource you have liked.*
- Enactus can put our university on a global stage, which greatly contributes to its positive reputation *Talk about what representing your university means to you. Also, tell a story about the friendships you have created with Enactus.*
