IT4Teens! A Click to the Future.
• IT4Teens is a non-profit initiative established to impact ICT knowledge to children and
young people for free and was founded by Mr. Erasmus Ackon on 31st May 2013.
• IT4Teens provides safe out of school learning environment where children and young
people come together to learn practical software development, game development,
mobile application development and website designing.
• IT4Teens was recognized and awarded as a Change Leading initiative by Reach For
Change (a global Nonprofit Organization with its headquarters in Sweden which has
the backing of the Crown Princess of Sweden).
• IT4Teens is currently being supported by Tigo and Reach For Change for a period of 3
years which started January 2014.

Our vision is to create a co-working environment for children to emerge, develop and
grow into young tech entrepreneurs.
Mobilize: IT4TEENS seeks to connect children and young people across the
length and breadth of Africa.

to get the children to come together to learn, brainstorm, discuss and share
strategies and ideas relating to Information Technology.
Inspire: it is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping
others to succeed hence IT4TEENS stands to provide the platform for youth to
come together to collectively inspire themselves and also draw inspiration
from the mentors available.

THE CHALLENGE
For children and young people in Africa, creating technology is just a dream.
Our current educational system only teaches children how to consume technology
without the children understanding how these technologies are created.
High cost of ICT training.
Inadequate ICT infrastructure.
Lack of support by parents particularly as IT is incorrectly
perceived as a career which revolves around the repair of
computers.

THE SOLUTION
We Are IT4Teens!
We are a nonprofit initiative that
provides tuition free comprehensive
IT training for children and young people.
We started in May 2013 in Ghana and have expanded to over 3,000
members with 5 training centers serving 40 communities and 16 schools
We Provide Free:
Training in Software Development, Mobile Application Development,
Game Development, Web development and General Introduction to
Computers.

SUCCESS STORY
Claude Obiri Asare : JHS2 – Morning Glory Internation School, Ghana
Below is an inspirational story of a child who has
been impacted by the work of IT4Teens.
Sixteen year old Claude Obiri Asare’s achievement
in IT4Teens is indeed an embodiment of the saying
that hard work really pays off.
Claude, a first year student of Korsah Complex
Junior High School, is the eldest of five siblings and
comes from a very humble background.

Claude enrolled at IT4Teens on June 27, 2013 without him having any idea as to how to even
boot a computer. He has always been a shy, quiet looking boy who is always the first to come
and the last member to leave the IT4Teens premises. One year down the lane, Claude has been
able to master HTML 5 and Alice 3D animating software that teaches children basic coding
principles.

IMPACT
