balconies with
Christmas lights .

5. We celebrate the tio on
December 24th.
The tio is a piece of wood
that “shits”presents.
We make “ the tio hits”
with a stick, so that it
shits us presents.
We decorate it with the
typical Catalan hat,
“barretina”
There's a blanket that
cover it.

6. On 25th December we eat
soup with pasta and meat with
our family. After dinner, we eat
torrons and neules. They are
sweet and delicious.

7. On December 26th
we celebrate Saint
Esteve day. This day,
people have lunch
“canelons” with the
family.
Canelons are a piece
of pasta full with the
rest of meat from
Christmas day.

8. On 28th December we
celebrate Fool‟s day.
This day people make
jokes and it is very funny.

9. 31ST OF DECEMBER
On 31st December,
we celebrate the
end of the year.
After the dinner, at
twelve o‟clock, we
eat twelve grapes
to be lucky.

10. 1ST OF JANUARY
On 1st January we celebrate the New Year. When we walk through the street
we say “ Happy new year”!!!! to the other people.
We have lunch with our family to celebrate the new year!!

11. THE NOSE MAN
There is a typical
character, „‟ The Nose
Man‟‟ He has got 365
noses, one per each day
in the year.
He appears on 1st
January.

12. In Spain we celebrate the three Wise Men.
Their names are Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar.

13. CHILDREN WRITE A LETTER
TO THEIR FAVOURITE WISE
MEN ASKING FOR THE
CHRISTMAS PRESENTS.
ON THE 5TH JANUARY, THE
WISE MEN GO OUT THROUGH
THE STREET IN A PARADE.
THEY THROW SWEETS.

14. CHILDREN PREPARE FOOD AND WATER TO THE CAMELS AND
THE WISE MEN, AND THEY GO TO BED VERY EARLY
BECAUSE IF THEY ARE NOT SLEPT, THE WISE MEN DON‟T
LEAVE THEM THE PRESENTS.
