EXT. COLLEGE - MORNING
OLIVE
A casually dressed, troubled blonde is walking anxiously
past the bike racks clutching some folders and a book to her
chest. Her head is bowed as she passes by the bullies.
BULLY
(Patronising)
Good morning freak!
Bully group sneer and laugh collectively.
BULLY
Leaving so soon?!
Olive increases her walking pace but doesn't respond. She
speed walks towards the safety of the classrooms while
various abuse is hurled at her.
EVIE, an odd looking outcast is watching intently from a
picnic bench, her eyes follow Olive as she disappears into a
corridor.
CUT TO:

INT. CLASSROOM
Olive is sitting at a desk, glassy eyed with her folders in
front of her, staring into space. She eventually opens a
book entitled 'The Mysteries of Sleep' and leafs through to
a chapter on 'Lucid Dreaming'. She is deep in thought
reading when a shadow appears in the corner of her eye. She
feels an increasingly looming presence over her. After
climax She turns to see Evie, looking at her through the
glass in the door. Olive is moderately alarmed by the
unfamiliar girl looking in at her.
OLIVE
(Cautiously)
Hello?
Evie disappears momentarily then slowly opens the door. She
steps onto the threshold
EVIE
(Timid, but intrigued
with stutter)
Erm, hello.. I'm Evie
OLIVE
(Equally cautious)
Hi Evie, I'm...

EVIE
(Interrupts with bated
enthusiasm and stutter)
O..Olive, yes i know. I've been
watching you for a while...
OLIVE
(Becomes slightly more
defensive)
Why have you been watching me?
Evie moves over the threshold of the door
EVIE
(While walking towards
Olive)
They call me 'freak' too Olive,
We're the same you and I, whether
or not you know it yet.

Evie walks gingerly over and takes a seat at the desk next
to Olive.
OLIVE
You don't mean?
EVIE
(Finishing Olive's
sentence)
I see it too.
The words reverberate in Olive's head. Evie watches with her
characteristic stare as Olive gauges the implications of
this revelation.
OLIVE
All my life I thoHer sentence stops dead when she catches a glimpse of a
black figure pass by the door. Evie knows immediately what
Olive has witnessed and she too turns to face the door.
There is a moment of sharp silence.
Evie leaps out of her chair (quite elegantly to Olive's
amazement) Olive follows with equal haste.
EVIE
(Franticly)
Let's go!

As the pair burst out of the door, a dazzling ball of light
erupts out of evie's hand. With acute menace the shadowy
figure is cast back and temporarily blinded by the light.

EXT. COLLEGE - CONTINUOUS
Evie and Olive burst out into the gloriously sunny
playground; and straight into a teacher.

MR. ERIOS
(Alarmed)

What are you doing darting around like this?

OLIVE
(Out breath)
Sorry sir we... Thought we were
late for lesson.
*

MR. ERIOS
Well you should have made more time
to get to your classes! Off you go.

Evie and Olive continue on past Mr. Erios until hear is
certainly out of ear shot. Olive looks around to make sure
it's safe to talk.

OLIVE
(Disbelief)
You.. you saw it as well?

EVIE
Yes Olive, i think somehow we're
connected. I can help you, i can
show you how to protect yourself.

Evie's eyes flash green.
